Even with the announcement of the newly renovated Spotify Camp Nou having further delays, Barcelona was able to show their determination for this La Liga season with their 6-0 victory over Valencia CF on September 14th at the Johan Cruyff stadium in Barcelona, Spain. We witnessed 6 incredible goals, including a first-time assist from our new Englishman, Marcus Rashford, giving goal space to Raphinha, who scored in the 53rd minute of the game.

FC Barcelona XI: Joan Garcia, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsi, Gerard Martin, Marc Casado, Pedri, Rooney Bardghji, Fermin Lopez, Marcus Rashford, Ferran Torres

Valencia CF XI: Julen Agirrezabala, Jose Gaya, Jose Copete, Mouctar Diakhaby, Cesar Tarrega, Dimitri Foulquier, Arnaut Danjuma, Baptiste Santamaria, Javier Guerra, Diego Lopez, Hugo Duro

With Lamine Yamal suffering an injury during the international break, Barcelona sent up Fermin Lopez to play this fixture, which proved to be a great decision made by manager Hansi Flick. Fermin scored his first goal of the match in the 29th minute and again in the 56th minute, showing his potential to be a regular season starter.

We get to see 2 amazing goals from Raphinha in the 53rd and 66th minutes. Even after not being in the starting eleven of this game due to late arrivals at training, the Brazilian striker shows the Blaugrana and its fans that he is ready for this upcoming season. Especially with the Ballon d’Or ceremony coming up in 2 weeks, Barcelona fans are eager to see if the award is finally ready to make its way back to Barcelona for the first time since 2019.

After being injured with an ACL injury at just 17 years old, we got to see La Masia youngster Marc Bernal make his return to the game after a year off the pitch in the 81st minute, which then led to him giving a great assist to Robert Lewandowski in the 86th minute, marking the 6th and final goal of the game.

This strong 6-0 lead reassures fans that as a manager, Hansi Flick is the man for the job. This match excites fans in hope for amazing results as the La Liga season continues, and hopefully in 2 weeks’ time, the Blaugrana will be able to return home to the new Spotify Camp Nou and begin a new chapter in the renovated stadium.
